The BSI-HMGS can detect 24 target pathogens specifically. To evaluate the specificity of BSI-HMGS for the target pathogens, 24 reference strains in the panel were detected. Every target gene was specifically amplified without any non-specific amplification. The detection of S. aureus, S. agalactiae, S. pneumoniae, and S. pyogenes showed two peaks, among which one was specific for their species and the other corresponded to their genus.
