Accumulated number of reported dengue cases in Rio de Janeiro, 2000-2015. We assume that the segments of the curve that show no increase in the cases are cases where a threshold of susceptible was reached. Note also that there are changes in the slope of the curve that indicate the epidemics propagating through the city. Finally the number of accumulated cases in the last outbreak twice the number of the previous ones. This indicates two virus circulating without competition.
