The time series analysis demonstrated a significant decrease in the level of antimicrobial use in the trauma and neurosurgery intensive care unit by 375 defined daily doses per 1000 patient days immediately after the intervention (p = 0.0009) but no significant change in antimicrobial use in the medical surgical intensive care unit.
