From: Expression of human beta-defensins 1 and 2 in kidneys with chronic bacterial infection
Cultured CAL-54 cells were stimulated with increasing TNFα (Fig. 4a), IL-1β (Fig. 4b), and LPS (Fig. 4c) concentrations for 6 hours in FCS-free medium and HBD-2 mRNA expression was analyzed by real-time RT-PCR. Bars represent the relative HBD-2 transcript levels normalized to GAPDH transcript levels.
