Percentage change in the incidence of HIV (blue) and chlamydia (red) among MSM, after a reduction in the frequency of opportunistic chlamydia screening (the time interval between chlamydia tests as currently reported by MSM is increased by 50%). The percentage change is calculated compared to the current situation, with only opportunistic chlamydia screening (see Methods and Additional file 1: Table S3). In each year, the lines represent the medians; the blue and red boxes represent the interquartile range; the line segments above and below the boxes show the whole range of the results.
