Phylogenetic analyses of 184 partial rrs sequences from 14 Leptospira species resolves 25 unique alleles. The tree was reconstructed using the neighbor-joining method as implemented in MEGA ver 5.0 [15]. A total of 45 polymorphic sites were demonstrated. The vertical numbers shown indicate the nucleotide position based on rrs of L. interrogans serovar Lai [GenBank: AE01300.1], and a dot indicates an identical nucleotide at that position.
