Algorithm used to estimate PZA treatment length based on TB notification data. The treatment time adjustments included the events of hospitalization within treatment time, death before the end of treatment, and resistances. In cases where TB notification data contained inconsistent information on date of death and/or date of diagnosis (implying that diagnosis took place after death), standard treatment length of 60 days with PZA and the average hospitalization time of all TB patients from the corresponding year were assumed. *For TB patients with resistance against PZA, the length of treatment with PZA was assumed to be 0 days. For patients with Isoniazid and Streptomycin resistance, the expected PZA treatment time was 315 days (10.5 months). For patients with MDR-TB, the PZA treatment length was considered 540 days (18 months)
