Serum levels of inflammatory marker according to infection status. The levels of P-selectin (a), Resistin (b), and C-Reactive Protein (CRP) (c) were determined using serology and were plotted aginst infection status. The assay was carried out in duplicate. Differences in levels of inflammatory marker for the uninfected and infected were analysed using the Mann Whitney U-test with p values less than 0.05 being significant. The orange bar represents the median value
