Design of the study population. Group 1 consisted of 31 individuals, splitted in: patients with American Tegumentary Leishmaniasis (ATL n = 15), non-infected individuals (NI n = 8), spontaneously cured patients (CUR n = 8). Group 2 was formed by patients with ATL before treatment (BT n = 14). Of these, 13, 10 and 10 individuals performed a new blood collection 1, 2 and 5 years, respectively, post therapeutic (PT) intervention and complete healing of the lesions
