Sepsis mice displayed suppressed blood 1,25(OH)2D levels which were associated with disorders of the mechanisms that regulate 1α-hydroxylase. C57BL/6 mice were induced for sepsis by cecal ligation and puncture. Twenty-four hours later, blood samples were collected and examined for the concentrations of IL-6 (a), 1,25(OH)2D (b), calcium (c), IGF-1 (d), creatinine (e), intact PTH (iPTH) (f), and cAMP (g).
