Acre state is the Westernmost among Brazilian states and Amazon biome. It is in the triple frontier border region constituted by Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. Land-use/land-cover data shows that ~ 85% forest cover has been preserved in this state (green areas). Anthropogenic habitats (brown areas) are located along part of the Transamazonian highway system, called BR 364, especially in the urbanized areas of the state capital, Rio Branco (RB) and the second largest city, Cruzeiro do Sul (CZS). This map was exclusively built for this publication in ArcGIS™ v. 10.3.1 with publicly available environmental data in INPE-PRODES and INPE-TerraClass
