A decreased number of S. pneumoniae was observed during the study period. The total number of referrals for bacterial cultures (both positive and negative ones) were per year 5886 and 5965 in 2007 and 2008, respectively. During the 3 years 2011–2013 the total numbers of bacterial cultures were 5908, 5585 and 5647, respectively
