Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 levels of 20 ng/mL or less were defined as vitamin D deficiency, those of 21–29 ng/mL were defined as vitamin D insufficiency, and those with serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 levels of 30 ng/mL or more were defined as vitamin D sufficiency
