  1. Lung and plasma cytokine levels after intranasal infection with 5*105 CFU of S. pneumoniae. Wild type (WT) and APChigh-mice were sacrificed 6, 24 or 48 hours after infection. Data are expressed as median (interquartile range) of n =8 mice per group per time point. BALF broncho-alveolar lavage fluid, BD below detection limits, TNF-α tumor necrosis factor-α, IL interleukin, IFN-γ interferon-γ, KC keratinocyte-derived chemokine, MCP-1 monocyte chemotactic protein.
