A) Response to the sum of ESAT-6 and CFP-10 peptides and B) to the sum of ESAT-6 and CFP-10 proteins in terms of IFN-gamma spot-forming cells (SFCs) per million PBMC for each individual are reported and correlated with the CD4+ T-cell count per mm3. The p value denotes the statistical significance of the correlation between CD4+ T-cell count and the response to the assay.
