Growth kinetics of M. tuberculosis in organs after intraperitonel infection of C57Bl/6 mice. C57Bl/6 mice were infected via the intraperitoneal route with 103 CFUs per animal. After 90 days of infection aminoguanidine (AG) or anti-TNFα antibodies were administered. For details see Materials and Methods. Mice were sacrificed at several time points post infection and the organ bacillary loads were estimated by plating serial dilutions of spleen and lung homogenates (from 6 mice per time point) onto agar medium. Each infected group contained 60 mice. The curves shown represent the average of one experiment and each experiment was repeated at least two times.
