Smears were prepared by standard methods, immunostained using an anti-Chlamydia EB antibody and an FITC-conjugated secondary antibody. Epifluorescence images in Panels A and B show representative examples of Chlamydia positive smears exhibiting characteristic inclusion bodies. Panel C shows a representative smear negative sample and does not contain inclusion bodies or other Chlamydia positive material.
