Results of LightCycler experiments on 51
-positive human amniotic fluids comparing the B1-specific PCR protocol and the PCR protocol specific for the 529-bp repeat element. Comparative LC PCR experiments were performed on DNA preparations of a collection of 51 T. gondii-positive human amniotic fluids. The real-time PCR assay targeting the 529-bp repeat element (red bars) showed a mean gain in LC crossing points of 4.6 with respect to the real-time PCR assay targeting the B1 gene (yellow bars).
