Bodyweight changes after virus challenge. Mice were intraperitoneally immunized twice, at a 3-week interval, with 4 μg (A), 1 μg (B), and 0.25 μg (C) of the vaccine with or without an adjuvant (MF59, alum, or chitosan). Mice were challenged with a lethal dose of SG-MCMV 3 weeks after the second immunization and the body weights were measured from the time of the challenge to 3 weeks after the challenge.
