Development of lesions of mice infected with T 40 , and T 80 . Mice were infected with 20 mg (wet weight) of bacterial fragments from T40 (left) and T80 (right). The footpad thickness was measured weekly; each point represents the mean of 20 animals and bars represent the standard deviation. As a control we inoculated a group of animals with T0 (open circles). When analyzed with the ANOVA test, a significantly difference was observed with regard to the control at 12 weeks post inoculation (P< 0.001) in both cases.
