Classified: respiratory, urinary tract, abdominal/pelvic, soft tissue, skeletal, neurological, vascular, unknown source.

Aetiological agents identified

Results of positive cultures, serology, antigen tests, nucleic acid amplification.

Physiological status in ED

SIRS criteria, initial and lowest systolic blood pressure, oliguria (urine output less than 0.5 ml/kg/hour for 2 consecutive hours), oximetry values.

Pathology tests in ED

Results of biochemistry and haematology profiles. Further data may also be available such as results of blood gas analyses and coagulation profiles.

Treatment in ED

Amount and type of fluid administered

Type and timing of antimicrobial therapy
